I’m Michael Rockafellow — a one-armed hairstylist, educator, and salon owner who built a career on resilience, creativity, and a deep love for helping people feel seen, confident, and taken care of.

 

I’ve worked nearly every role in a salon except owner… until now. From receptionist to booth renter, commission stylist, to manager, associate trainer to front desk lead — every step taught me what truly makes a salon thrive: empathy, communication, and a team that wants to see one another win.

 

Mars Salon is a collaborative, welcoming environment where stylists can grow how they want to grow. Whether someone stays forever or uses Mars as a stepping stone to launch their next chapter, they’re supported, celebrated, and encouraged to chase their version of success.

 

As a stylist, I specialize in lived-in looks, transformative reds, dimensional color, and creating a guest experience that feels both relaxing and personal. My work is rooted in education — from advanced color theory to apprentice training to hands-on classes for stylists across the region. I believe great hair starts with great communication, a plan, and a little bit of humor.

 

Most importantly, I’m here to build a salon culture based on kindness, integrity, superior craftsmanship, and genuine human connection. Mars is a place where guests feel welcome and stylists feel at home.
